XalMeds ACV is a treatment for Aciclovir, a type of antiviral medicine used to treat infections caused by the herpes virus (herpes zoster) in adults and children. XalMeds ACV contains acyclovir, a synthetic nucleoside analogue with pharmacological activity against the herpes virus.

Active Ingredient:Aciclovir 200mg TabletsContraindications:Do not use in the eyes, nose, or mouth, or in the mouth. Treatment of cold sores (herpes labialis) with aciclovir may lead to vasodilation. See also Warning section. This medicine is contraindicated in the following ways: Herpes simplex (HSV-1 or HSV-2 infection) on skin. In the case of a herpes simplex infection on the lips, the lips should be avoided, as the drug may cause irritation to the skin.Special precautions:Perform of the herpes simplex virus using oral aciclovir tablets. This medicine is not recommended for the treatment of genital herpes, cold sores (herpes labialis), or cold sores (herpes zoster). The use of aciclovir in combination with other medicinal products containing aciclovir can increase the incidence of side effects.Pregnancy and breastfeeding:Avoid use during pregnancy or in the first trimester of pregnancy. The drug may be used during breastfeeding. See your doctor before taking this medicine to avoid the risk of side effects.Children and adolescents:Only for medical necessity. The drug may be used in the case of the spontaneous resolution of symptoms associated with a herpes simplex infection, such as pain or fever. The drug is usually well tolerated, but high doses may occur. See your doctor or pharmacist for details.Possible side effects:Common side effects are headache, facial flushing, dyspepsia, nasal congestion, dizziness, indigestion, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, headache, flushing, and taste disturbances.Precautions:This medicine is not recommended for use in the eyes, nose, or ears. You should consult a doctor if you experience any of the following side effects and if you notice new or worsening symptoms:

Instructions for use

XalMeds ACV tablets, film-coated, should be swallowed whole with water. The tablets and cream should be applied twice daily (every 6 hours). If symptoms persist, consult your doctor. XalMeds ACV is not recommended for use in children.

Recommended dosage

The recommended dosage for adults is 200mg of XalMeds ACV tablets, twice daily for 6 days. The dosage for children is 200mg of XalMeds ACV tablets, once daily for 7 days. The dosage for adults is 100mg of XalMeds ACV tablets, once daily for 7 days.

For genital herpes treatment:

Take this medicine as advised by your doctor. You should take it at the same time(s) every day.

Zovirax Cold Sore Cream is the original antiviral treatment that promotes rapid healing of cold sores and if used early enough, can prevent or limit their effects.

Works at tingle and blister and is clinically proven to:

Zovirax Cold Sore Cream is indicated in adults and children for the treatment of cold sore which is an infection caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV).

Directions:

You should apply the cream as soon as a cold sore is felt.

Adults and Children:Apply five times a day at four hourly intervals for five days.

If healing is not complete after five days, the treatment can be continued for up to five days more.

Remove any cosmetics before applying Zovirax Cold Sore Cream.
